Choreographer Ashley Veldhuyzen

In 2011 Ashley moved to Rotterdam, The Netherlands with her husband and has been involved in many different projects and schools.  She is the Dance Coordinator for the Nationaal Jeugd Musical Theater school in Amsterdam and has choreographed the school's last 5 national tours.  She has also directed and choreographed Musical 2 Fight Cancer Dance Edition for the last 5 years.  The show has raised over €50,000 for cancer research.  She has worked with the SKVR for over 10 years teaching dance in schools around Rotterdam, also working to create and teach educative workshops with Conny Jassen Danst, Scapino and The Rotterdam Philharmonic Symphony.  In 2016 she assisted with the choreography for Q-Music's Foute Party, helping stage work for artists Fred van Leer, Gerard Joling and the Q- Music DJ's as well as dancing in the show herself.

Ashley’s passion for choreography & teaching began when she took over as lead choreographer in 1998 for the teen group Forever who toured around the USA working in the inner cities as well as prisons helping reach troubled youth.  From there it took off and she continually worked on developing her own unique style through her years performing.  She was able to train as a teacher under some of the top dance instructors in the Midwest.  Getting the chance to train under so many different choreographers and styles has given her the ability to be flexible and create a wide range of performances.  She’s staged many different types of work from video shoots, festivals, backup dancing for artists, big performances of kids, parades, intimate dinner theaters, competition pieces and themed shows with audiences of 10 people to 20,000.  She loves to explore different spaces and styles and looks forward to continuing her work always developing fresh new ideas.
